CDL Skills Test
What Will You Be Tested On?
1) Pre-Trip
-
Students are required to inspect the front of the vehicle, the engine compartment, the front axle, the side of the vehicle, including the underneath, the rear axle, the rear of the vehicle, and anything unique on the other side.

Students should point to or touch what they are inspecting in order to get credit for that item and give full detail on what they are inspecting.

The area of inspection is randomly chosen by the system when the examiner starts the test. The 3 possible inspections are:

Full vehicle
-
Front of vehicle and engine compartment including the front axle

Driver/passenger side, (depending on vehicle type), underneath and rear of vehicle

External Light Check
-
Students are to perform an external light check of the front and rear lights to ensure they are all functioning properly.

In-Cab Inspection and Engine Start
-
Students are to inspect the cab area and do an engine start which includes the brake test. MISSING ANY PART OF THE BRAKE TEST IS AN AUTOMATIC FAILURE.

2) Maneuvers

All students must straight line back, offset back to the right and do an alley dock.

The examiner will score you on crossing boundaries (encroachments), pull-ups, outside vehicle observations (looks), and final position/inside parallel.

3) Road Test

Mirror checks, intersection checks, RR crossing checks, curbs, roadside stops, turn signals, lane usage, lane changes, expressway, safety gap, regular traffic checks, student discharge (school bus).

We have two state certified third-party CDL examiners at our facility happy to test your skills.
If you've been through ELDT, have your vehicle ready, and only need to test, we can get you set up.
We require a copy of your current driver's license, learners permit, DOT physical, proof of registration in the clearinghouse, current vehicle insurance and registration.
Once we have that information we can get your test scheduled. After completing the test, you will be given a paper to take to the DMV to get your license issued.
Cost to test is $200. We accept cash, cashiers check, paypal, venmo, cashapp
